Advisor, CS visits Baltal to review Amarnath Yatra arrangements | KNO

BALTAL (GANDERBAL), JUNE 24 (KNO) : Advisor to Governor, K Vijay Kumar today visited Yatra Base Camp, Baltal to review the arrangements being made for smooth conduct of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2018. Chief Secretary, B V R Subrahmanyam, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, IGP Kashmir, SP Pani and District Development Commissioner, Ganderbal Dr Piyush Singla accompanied the Advisor.

The Advisor took a detailed review of all activities being carried out in Baltal area, besides, Domail and Holy Cave in view of the upcoming Shri Amarnath ji Yatra. The Advisor gave on-spot instructions to further improve the arrangements and directed concerned officers to provide 3 Gen-Sets to ITBP, besides providing additional toilet facilities to them. K Vijay Kumar directed the Power Development Department to keep buffer stock of Transformers available at Baltal to ensure uninterrupted power supply in the whole area and also directed Food Safety Officer to ensure regular checking of food items and other eatables in the langars.

The Advisor also took stock of other facilities including water supply, sanitation, power, roads , communication, Public Address System, Health, labor and other services. He directed the officials to work in coordinated efforts to ensure better coordination for the smooth conduct of the Yatra He directed Camp Director Baltal to hold review meetings on daily basis for improvement of facilities to the pilgrims. Earlier, the DDC Ganderbal, Dr Piyush Singla and Camp Director Baltal, Sachin Dev Singh briefed the Advisor about the facilities being provided in the area. Among others, SSP Ganderbal, Fayaz Ahmad, civil, police and Army officers attended the meeting, besides, Officers of ITBP.
